Looking north, moving right (east) to see moonrises 12, 4, 5, 7 over Gulf to moonsets 6, 5, 4, 12, 1 in west
The moon image sizes differ but their positions on the horizon are correct
The original idea was to track each full moon rise and set for a year, recording positions around the horizon from a single site, the ramp in Deer Lake State Park, FL. The project is complete.
Only Full Moon 12 rose and set clearly. Full Moon 4 rose clearly. With only three out of 28 possible moon set or rise events visible at the horizon, the project failed. I succeeded in seeing nine moon sets or rises near the horizon that allow me to predict generally full moon locations during the year. I have a sense of seasonal changes. Being out there made the project worth the effort. Always a beautiful adventure with some magnificent sunsets and sunrises.
I honor equinoxes, solstices, and some new moons too. Dates in moons, solstices, equinoxes, months and some hours and minutes in UT or Central Time zone, with full moonrises and moonsets. Full moon time is colored red. For the last event, see Moon 13.

This moon calendar didn't work out evenly for 13 moons. It is not exactly a 28-day cycle as I had thought. We have 13 new moons and only 12 full moons. I'm studying moon years and will correct this page as I learn. The seed idea is a journal entry on 2014-12-06.
