QTVR links

I like the round space of QuickTime Virtual Reality (QTVR) movies. Here are links to some sites. There are many more than are listed here. The last link comes first. See tools and tutorials.

Tutorials

  1. http://www.panoguide.com/, Guide to Panoramic Photography.

  2. Ponyboy. http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/ponyboy/qtvrhome.html . Choose QTVR and find tips down in the table.

  3. QTVR For The Rest Of Us. http://www.outsidethelines.com/EZQTVR.html

  4. QuickTimeVR Authoring Tricks. http://www.worldserver.com/turk/quicktimevr/authoring.html

  5. http://www.themaestro.net/DSP/Remap/remapsource.html, the Remap resource center, has a variety of information and tutorials about spherical immersive imaging.

  6. QTVR Tutorials for Educators. http://www.edb.utexas.edu/teachnet/QTVR/

  7. http://www.hvra.com.ar/enqthand.htm and http://www.hvra.com.ar/enqtfact.htm are helpful for QT 3 plug-in and general installation details.

Tools

  1. One of the best ways so far to view my spherical panoramas is with a free SmoothMove logo iMove viewer, either plug-in or standalone for Macintosh or PC. With the standalone viewer, you can resize the window. See also Java applets.

  2. Innovative QTVR from Deep Forest Multimedia by Bill Meikle. http://www.vrhotwires.com/. I use VRHotWires.

  3. Two free Zoom viewers from http://www.mgisoft.com/ let you view spheres. The Java applet requires no plug-in. The other viewer has Mac and PC browser plug-ins. The PC plug-in displays the image in-line, on the page. The Mac plug-in pops up a separate application window.

  4. http://www.apple.com/quicktime/developers/tools.html. You can get Make Panorama 2 from Apple, for free.

  5. http://www.vrtools.com/. conVRter is a good, affordable way to do hot spots and much more. Also deliVRator, from VRtools by Jon Summers.

  6. I won mapsaVR from Squamish Media Group and use it in several panos to show compass point directions interactively. They have other useful tools, including soundsaVR and revolVR. See http://www.smgVR.com.

About IPIX. As of March, 2000, my attitude is live and let live.
