On November 9, 2010 I found three of the earthballs found on October 30, 2010. See the map pin labeled "30A - Seagrove" for the general location. A picture with an arrow points out the location looking left on Scenic Highway 30A. I had labeled these earthballs #s 1-3, shown above. I did not find the previous #s 4-6 there (see Nov. 13 update on the Oct. 30 page). But did find a wonderful new earthball - with bug (see it to upper right edge of the fungus in the photo below). On November 13 (and following), these fungi were still there. On both dates, also several new fungi in various stages of emergence.
The Chapel earthball, about 3 inches or 7 centimeters wide, across 30A from the east end of Gravel Road restaurant (see map). Little change on Nov. 13 and following but see bigger, better pictures on December 24 and January 1, 2011.

These earthballs will probably come and go in a week or two. However, the one on the left is still there in 2011, gradually bulging. Saw the one on the right on Nov. 13.

A reminder that last year's earthstars may be still actively offering spores
