On the beach at Deer Lake State Park a wave came in, depositing something on the sand that quickly dug down, blub, blub, blub, leaving a tiny hole. This happens many times a minute all along the shore. See this location on Google map.
The background image is abstracted from sand lace (small, medium or large view). This white sand made of quartz crystals is gray or neutral when wet. See spiral.
