On the first Sunday after the first full moon after the March Equinox, 2008, at 7:30 in the morning, I found purple iris blooming in the swales along the bike path and turned to find purple light in the wings and curtains projected by the rising sun from Deer Lake State Park, north of Scenic 30A. I didn't know that the little lens of my new Pentax Optio W30 camera creates vertical purple bands when light is glaring.
