{Back to top of page}In the intro to the Staten Island art period, I say that I wanted to "express everything that I could see with my eyes closed."
In the interactive sketch, LIFE, 1970, I combined related expressions. I mixed media such as pencil, crayon, felt tip pens, and ink pen, on layers of clear plastic and papers, taped together in impermanent but interactive form.
In 2001 I scanned the graphics and imported them into an interactive Flash movie.
In 2014 using Google's Swiffy, I converted the Flash movie to HTML5, which you see above. If you don't see it above, try its own page. Alternatively, using the Flash movie, I captured two QuickTime movies, bitmap update or example of interactivity. Choices:
- Original bitmap (330 KB) or Simpler vector (250 KB) Flash movie, interactive
- Original bitmap update: YouTube or Vimeo
- Original bitmap example of interactivity: YouTube or Vimeo
