"When I started paragliding, I wasn't sure what the possibilities of the sport were, having flown my first (almost 50km) cross country flight in the first 6 months, I learnt very quickly what was possible. Having just completed my second full season, I was expecting this season to be disappointing due to knowing what was possible however not expecting to have the skill set to actually make the most of it. I was pleasantly surprised at how I got on, with the highlights being an early season Coronet to Wanaka XC followed by a few months of trying to make it work but not having much luck then getting a nice 50km XC from Treble cone to the Neck with a low cloud base and a late start. The highlight of paragliding for myself is when I managed to fly my first 100km XC from Hawea to Mt. Cook followed the next day by a 130km Flight Back to Wanaka."

"I really enjoyed reading and learning about who Leo Geary is and flicking through the old sides on the website, I am honoured to receive this award!

Kind Regards, Jesse"
