Zen/0 -- Explore Thinkers, page 27, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance
[Note: Comments on Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, by Robert M. Pirsig, p.2]
- 5 Being stuck at the "zero moment of consciousness" is a good metaphor for the undivided state. Here zero is not only a quantity (of action, of ideas) but an aspect of time. Isn't the zero moment usually just before something happens? It is before the count.
- 6 Does he long for telepathy? In Zen, reaching a profound understanding without recourse to extenal means of communication is called direct transmission. Could it be that the math of the undivided state may be of service in this area?
- 7 Think of yes as 1, no as -1, and mu as /0
