In the new Maplewood Memorial Library I'm drawn to a bird-warning window story: a FRIT. The images face outward, for birds to read.

The windows are fritted with a special pattern that prevents birds from flying into the windows and increases energy efficiency by reducing cooling costs. Special iconic panels honor local plants and animals.
