After hurricane Wilma, in October, 2005, sand washed back up onto the beach, the opposite of erosion. In addition to recreating the beautiful white sandy shore, this restored my faith in nature. She takes away and gives back. The tire tracks are from the incessant parade of vehicles brought out by previous storms this year. They push sand to buttress properties. They remove debris. They dig channels in a vain attempt to manipulate the interface between dune lakes and the Gulf of Mexico. This area is between Eastern Lake and Deer Lake in NW Florida, the panhandle.
Compare the large picture to how it looked the month before in the small picture (or on its own page), with water engulfing the stairs.
