Florida Trail: Clearing Limits

Clearing limits apply to all stages of Florida Trail creation from idea through execution and hiking. Planning is done with the land manager. In designing, the trail route is flagged within the land corridor limits. Pinning defines the exact 6' trail corridar by marking the outer limit for cutting the trail. Points covered:

• - Flagging: tape flag tied to show the trail route
• - Pinning: pin flags stuck in the ground to show where trail is to be cut
• - Clearing limit: 6' wide trail corridor
• - Clearing limit: 8' high trail corridor
• - Treading: where people tread or walk in the center of the trail corridor
• - Clearing limit: 2' wide trail treadway centered within the trail corridor
