Ink Painting - Examples of using a broad brush

In the ink paintings above, a broad brush stroke creates form directly. I did these portraits about 1957. Here is a much wider hake brush sold at a craft store in Florida in 2011. It is about 4 inches across, with bristles held in several handles tightly bound together to make a single brush. Rather ironically, it is a "Fine Touch" brand. People here must be practicing this ancient art technique at this time.
