On Dec. 5, 2008 I found a type of lichen that I had not seen before, tentatively identified as "resurrection cladonia" (Cladonia prostrata). On January 27, 2009 I returned to photograph it after rain. This plant opens its leaves when wet, exposing the green side (see it here). On January 30, the leaves have dried out and curled up, exposing the silvery white undersides.
