Since March, 2007, I've been watching an old growth patch of deer lichen along a Florida Scenic Corridor: Scenic Highway 30-A in NW Florida. In July 2007 and again in May 2008 a mowing machine trimming grass beside the bike path has run over the lichen, crushing it. I called this "Terror on the Timpoochee Trail". In December 2008, I made this movie while discovering that another mowing missed the plants leaving them to continue recovering. Deer lichen is slow growing. The movie requires Flash plug-in from Adobe.
