Deer Lichen in Rocky Bayou State Park

The Red Cedar Nature Trail at Rocky Bayou State Park has open vistas of florest floor carpeted in deer lichen under towering trees. It is in Okaloosa County, NW Florida, east of Niceville on Hwy 20. The video above was photographed 2009-04-05. See title and another image of walks on the trail. See also the travel section for the park featuring a video of a walk to a steephead.

On May 2, 2009 wholeo.net hosted a deer lichen display and led a hike as part of the Choctawhatchee Estuary Family Festival.
