On 2009-02-25 at N 30°18'31.6" W086°05'20.2", I found a site with a variety of lichens, including Cladonia prostrata plants (discovered at Camp Helen). Note that the site is dry, causing or allowing the resurrection cladonia to curl up, showing the white undersides. It is a vacant lot on the east side of Lakewood Drive surrounded by developed properties, but like Lakewood Dr. N, remains relatively undisturbed.
Plants grow in quite white quartz crystal sand, beautifully clean in this photo of 2009-02-27.
