Deer Lake State Park outflow, 8 August, 2005

After Hurricane Dennis, this outfall was landlocked, closed. Finally, it opened up again. The lake gleams in the background, in the glaring dawn sunlight. In the middle ground to the left, water stands in wetlands stretching way back. In the right foreground, water gushes out to the gulf, streaming over plants, combing them like hair of dunes.
