On Dec. 5, 2008 I found an unfamiliar type of lichen identified as "resurrection cladonia" (Cladonia prostrata). On Dec. 6 I returned to photograph it. This picture shows how closely it grows with "powder puff lichen" (Cladina evansii), the most common deer lichen in my area.
