Pt. Washington State Forest - wet deer lichen

The zooming image above photographed 2009-01-28 contingent to Pt. Washington State Forest. The GPS coordinates are 30°18'45.5"N 85°6'06.1"W.

I learned recently that when wet, deer lichen not only softens, but it deepens in color, turning towards emerald or aqua spa. This lichen tentatively identified as Cladonia evansii is on a path going north from Scenic Highway 30A towards Pt. Washington State Forest. I looked at Cladonia prostrata about 300 feet farther north on the path and it had not gotten wet in the rain.
