The zooming image above photographed 2009-01-28 south of Pt. Washington State Forest on Scenic Highway 30-A. The GPS coordinates are 30°18'42.2"N 85°5'54.4"W.
These plants were growing just south of the bike path and road in a vacant lot, an area previously cleared. These are fungi called earthballs.
