mind lightsNew development in the recent Tetrahedral Light Muscle (TLM) series envisions lights of the mind. These start with the Pineal lantern and go through Liquid Starlight of the Mind, emotions, brain, and Cosmic Juices, before stopping to watch the TLM, in more detail than shown last week. Working on this recurring theme, I'm reminded that I never know if I'm envisioning existing reality, or designing possible reality. Whichever it is, it seems like exploration. Next week I hope to get closer to TLM action. Macromedia Flash is the best medium for the trip. See Lights of the Mind.

rear-view eyesAt last, Eyes in Back of Head appears. The idea was ambitious: to make a 360-degree QuickTime VR movie showing not only the view ahead but the view behind, as if you had eyes in the back of your head. This movie was to be my WWP entry next December, which it can't be, since it takes two movies, that communicate, one for each set of eyes.

It was exciting working on the web forum of vrhotwires.com, the software we used, by Bill Meikle. R S Haan, a photographer of HaanHouse.com, did the scripting, weaving the two movies together. I photographed Eastern Lake, stitched the panorama, and made the mask art work. I give deep thanks for this collaboration.

TLM glass sculpture Still working on "Eyes in Back of Head", I photographed a 20-year old sculpture, as part of unfinished work on the Tetrahedronal Light Muscle, a structure of consciousness. The glass triangles are wrapped in copper foil and soldered together to form the 3D object. The QuickTime and Macromedia Flash object movies are made from 32 photographs as the sculpture turns around 360 degrees.
