Bicycle
tour Adventure South brochure, an example of full promotion service, providing
the logo, text, graphics, and printing. In 1996, I met Geoff Gabites and his
wife, who continue to sponsor Adventure South tours. Geoff said of Leo, "he
would invite me on preposterous journeys."
Business
card Mike MacManaway, inventor of the world-famous Tantrix
game, was a customer and friend of Leo's. I asked Mike what he saw in this
business card. He said "I like it. You know it won't be plain business as usual."
Canterbury poster After bicycling in New Zealand, Leo chose to live there,
in the South Island. The Canterbury plain stretches from Christchurch (where
Leo lived and worked) to Mt. Cook (where Leo flew, skied, and climbed). The
poster is a montage of the sheep, Maori art (Moki), city, and landscape.
The Maoris are New Zealand native people who make wonderful carvings, among
their many artworks.
In an article about Leo, a magazine said, Brochure produced in collaboration with Nigel Wilcox of Top Marks Design,
Christchurch, NZ. Nigel told me that in early 1992, this computer design was
on the cutting edge. Graphic art for Hall & Ball, Adventure Consultants.

Newsletter
The 10th edition of Parapente.
"Parapente..was personally
written, edited, and published by Leo himself. It was the first publication
of its kind, and Leo was the leader that made it all happen. He brought paragliding
in New Zealand to the high profile sport it has become now. He created Parapente
as a journalistic medium for all pilots to communicate with each other, learn
the latest news, and have information which they can exchange. Leo put a lot
of energy and effort into the magazine, purely for the benefit of his fellow
pilots."
(Quote from Airborn, New Zealand Hang Gliding & Paragliding
Magazine, Issue 73, October 1992.)
