Hurricane Dennis surged onto the beaches of South Walton county and took away much. Dunes appear in profile, as if cut in half, with plants and roots trailing. Dune walkovers, made of wood, are torn off and scattered up and down the coast. Houses collapsed, septic tanks were yanked from pipes and broken apart.
